Mary A. Lohr


Mary A. Lohr, 79, Crooksville, died Wednesday, July 15, 1998, at Morrison House, Zanesville. Born Nov. 14, 1918, at Wellston, daughter of the late Motley J. and Edna Higgins Merrill, she was married for 52 years to Marcus D. Lohr Jr., who survives. A homemaker, she was a former employee of Ohio University. She was a member of Maple Avenue Christian Church in Crooksville and the women's organization of the church. She was a 1936 graduate of Wellston High School. Also surviving are a son, Marcus D. III and Kim Lohr of Indianapolis, Ind.; a daughter, Mrs. Dan (Barbara) Sickels of Canal Winchester; five grandchildren, Amy Sickels of State College, Penn., Jeff (Peggy) Sickels of Canal Winchester and Maggie, Devon and Emmeline Lohr of Indianapolis, Ind.; a great-grandson, Tyler Sickels of Canal Winchester; a brother, Robert (Lucy) Merrill of Chillicothe; and a sister, Billie Joanne Hastilow of Grove City. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Lanford Merrill, and four sisters, Bertha Mae Cline, Mildred Dennis, Hazel Grant and Margie Merrill. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary K. Wheeler officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
