John J. Korns, owner of the Oak Hill drugstore, went to Portsmouth Friday, crossed the river, boarded a C&O train, and was put off. The next morning, his dead body was found by the side of the track. He had about $360 in his pocket. His uncle, Ex-Sheriff Korns of Holmes County, came over to take charge of the remains and they were taken to Holmes County for burial. He was a graduate of the Ohio State University and had been at Oak Hill only about six months.
