Ira A. Keller


Ira A. Keller, 90, died at 6 AM Sunday in Mercy Hospital, Portsmouth, following a two weeks' illness. He ws a retired miller, hardware dealer and farmer of the Stockday community. He was born in Jackson County, April 6, 1858, the son of George and Katherine Comer Keller. He had resided in Stockdale for many years and was a member of Alhambra Chapter, Knights of Pythias Lodge of that village, and was well known both in Pike and Scioto Counties. United in marriage to Sara Brown, she preceeded him in death on February 18, 1945. He was also preceeded in death in the same year by a son, Claude Keller. Surviving are one son, Hobart Keller, of Lancaster; a brother, WilliamKeller of Jackson, and three sisters, Mrs Margaret Fout, of Beaver, Mrs Solomon Rapp of Frankfort, and Mrs Catherine Brown of Stockdale. The body was taken to the Davis-Hammerstein Funeral Home in Beaver where it remained until the funeral hour at 2 p.m., Tuesday , when it was moved to the Stockdale Methodist Church with Rev. Russell Balsinger of Portsmouth officiating. Burial followed in the Stockdale cemetery, Pike County, under the direction of the Davis-Hammerstein company.
