John W. Jones

John W. Jones was born in Cardien, South Wales, October 5th, 1829; died December 19, 1899, age 70 years, 2 mo, 14 days. Came to the United States in 1838, was reared by Christian parents. Joined the Baptist church at the age of fifteen years. In 1850 was converted in the United Brethren Church at South Webster, Scioto County, and lived a consistent Christian life. In 1851, he was married to Martha Waldren of Jackson, Ohio; to them born thirteen children, five of them are gone before and eight are left to mourn the loss of a loving parent. Twelve years ago he moved to Wellston and went into the United Brethren church and until death lived as a devoted Christian and died in possession of an unwavering faith in Jesus.
