In 1852 she and her husband, the late Thomas M. Jones, emigrated to this country, settling first on Hewitt's Fork and later in Samsonville, where Mr. Jones died in 1873. They had five children: two sons, David and William, both died of diptheria in 1859 (their deaths about one week apart), David, the other son, grew to manhood and located in Van Wert County. Mrs. Jones left her home in Bethel in 1886 to help her son, David, when his first wife died. He had a daughter, Odie Ann Jones. David married second and then Mrs. Jones lived with her daughter, Mrs. Morgan. Mrs. Jones' other daughter, Miss Mary M. Jones, has lived in Cincinnati for years. Mrs. Jones' son, David, was killed in 1905 in an explosion of dynamite in a lime quarry in Iowa Falls, Iowa.
