James Johnson


James "Jim" Johnson, age 82, of Columbia, Tenn., and a former Wellston resident, passed away Saturday, October 18, 2003, at his residence. He was born in Portsmouth, Ohio, on November 12, 1920, son of the late James W. and Elizabeth Frances Custer Johnson. Jim was retired from the Uranium Enrichment Plant in Piketon. He was a member of the Hope United Methodist Church in Wellston and attended Bigbyville United Methodist Church in Columbia. Jim served in the United States Marines during World War II and was a member of the American Legion Post 371 of Wellston and was a mason in the Black Diamond Lodge #538 of Wellston. He is survived by son, Jim (Patsy) Johnson in Columbia, Tenn.; daughter, Barbara (Buddy) Smith of Ellisville, MS.; stepson Paul (Rhoda) Robinette of Charlotte, NC; stepdaughters, Sue Dodson of Charlotte, NC, and Judy Robinette of Ashland, Ky.; as well as 22 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren. There will be no calling hours. Graveside services will be Friday, October 31, 2003 at 1 P.M. at the Ridgewood Cemetery in Wellston.Arrangements are under the direction of the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.
