Ellen Jones

She was the daughter of David and Margaret Pugh Jones. She was born January 30, 1836 near Tregaron, Cardinganshire, Wales, and died August 27, 1919 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. A.F. Hopkins, Washington Court House, Ohio. She was one of four children (2 boys and 2 girls), the eldest, a brother, passed away in Wales. The other brother died in the Civil War; her sister, Mrs. T.J. Hughes, died Oct 1907. She came with her parents to this country in 1847 and located near Oak Hill. She married in 1858 to Thomas Edwards, a native of Wales (who emigrated here with his mother and twp brothers in 1835). They had five children, all of whom but one (Mrs. A.T. Hopkins) died in early childhood. Her husband died in April 1867. In 1886 she married a second time to Mr. John C. Jones. He died in 1902.
