Lewis E. Hayburn


Lewis E. Hayburn, age 81, of East First Street, Wellston died Monday August 5, at the Huston Nursing Home, Hamden. A lifetime resident of the Wellston area, he was a son of the late Herschel and Anna Zinn Hayburn. He was preceded in death by two sisters. He is survived by his wife, Mildred Helm Hayburn, a son, Robert of Minford, one grandson, and four sisters, Beulah LaHurd of Sarasota, Florida, Stella Moran and Ellen Schilder, both of Pompano Beach, Florida, and Mildred Cozad of Columbus. He and his wife, Mildred, operated the Hayburn clothing store, on Ohio Avenue, for 40 years. Prior to that he had been manager of the shoe department of the E. E. Chambers Company. He attended the Hope United Methodist Church. A memorial service was conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at the J. P. Rogers Funeral Home. Rev. William Mead conducted the service. The remains were cremated and buried in Ridgewood Cemetery.
