J.T. Callahan was called to this city the first of the week on account of the death of his brother-in-law, Henry Hayes of Indiana, whose remains were brought here for interment. Henry Hayes, formerly a well-known teacher of this county, died last Friday at Portland, Indiana, of inflammation of the stomach. He was 49 years old and leaves a wife to mourn her loss. She is the daughter of William J. Callahan of Bloomfield. His remains were brought to Jackson Monday at 3:45 on the O.S. and were interred at Buckeye Church, Tuesday at 11 o'clock, Rev. Weir officiating. T.C. Stephenson, his brother-in-law, came with the remains.
