George Jacob Helmen

George Jacob Helmen, residing upon the old Dan Johnson farm west of Jackson, died Feburary 28, 1903. He was born in Germany November 2, 1824, and came to this country when a young man. He was twice married, first to Mary B. Hamilman and later (in Scioto County OH) to Anna E. Mcfann (Coyle). To the first union two children were born but died years ago. The latter union was blessed by the birth of six children all of whom survive. Funeral was held March 3, 1903, with J.W. Willis officiating. Burial at Mt. Zion Cemetery.
