Dorothy L. Hickman

Dorothy L. Hickman, age 89, of Savageville Road, Jackson, passed away at Heartland of Jackson on Monday, Sept. 24, 2001. She was born on March 4, 1912, to the late Harlan and Lillian Mercer Martin. Her husband, Darrell William Hickman, passed away in March of 1995. She was a member of the Richmond Dale Church of God in Richmond Dale. She is survived by four sons, Darrell William, Jr. (Ada Ruth), Melvin M. Hickman (Charlotte), Carroll D. Hickman (Barbara) and Don P. Hickman, all of Jackson; 19 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Harlan E. Hickman; sister, Viola Durant; brothers, Homer Martin, George Martin, Clifton Martin and Harlan Martin. Friends may call at the Mayhew Funeral Home Wednesday, Sept. 26, from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral service will be held Thursday, Sept. 27, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. John Evans officiating. Burial will follow in the Hickman Cemetery.
