Allan Clair Hickman


Allan Clair Hickman, age 82, died Thursday, February 6, 1992, at Kobacker House following a long illness. He was born at Ray, Jackson Co., Oh. on April 27, 1909, to the late Zachariah and Margaret Terry Hickman. Besides his parents, he was pre-deceased by brothers, John and Bazil Hickman and sister, Maribelle Drennen. Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Marie Hickman; daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and John Stefanek; son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Nellie Hickman; and son, Bruce Hickman; grandchildren, Vickie, David and Jessica Stefanek, Ricky (Sherri) Hickman, Michael (JoEllen) Hickman, Rodney Hickman, and Tina Sue Smith; step-granddaughters, Melody Potts and Shelly Bass; great-grandchildren, Amanda, Charles, and Michael Smith, Kristin and Reanna Hickman; and step-great-grandson, Nicholas Packard; also surviving are sisters, Evelyn Finch, Martha Schauseil, Alice (Forrest) Markham, and Clarice Cunningham; brother, Jack (Avonelle) Hickman. A fifty year member of International Union of Operating Engineers, Allan joined the Parent Body of Local No. 18 and received his Life Membership in January, 1980. He retired in 1974 after 16 years with G. W. Atkinson Construction Co. He was a former member of East Linden United Methodist Church and has been a member of McKendree United Methodist Church the past 19 years. Family will receive friends Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Schoedinger North Chapel, 5554 Karl Rd. Graveside Funeral Service 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 8, 1992 at Waverly Evergreen Cemetery. Rev.
