Ronald Gill


Wellston Man Held In Fatal Shooting

[A Wellston man is being held] in connection with the fatal shooting of Ronald Gill, 35, of Wellston early Sunday morning. The shooting victim, Ronald Gill, was a truck driver and construction worker. He was a former star Wellston high school football player. Gill was born in Wellston on May 19, 1933, the son of Fred Gill, Sr., and the late Grace Collins Gill. He lived at 214 East Broadway. He was a construction worker with the J. J. Baltas Co., of Norwalk. He was a member of the Hope United Methodist Church, the American Legion 371, F. O. E. 637, the Elks, the Royal Order of Moose, the V. F. W 3827 and the Teamsters' Union. Besides his mother, he was preceded in death by a brother, John William Gill. Surviving him is his father, Fred Gill, Sr., of the E. Broadway address, one brother, Fred Gill, Jr., and three nieces, Lois Ann Seymour, Donna Sue and Joyce Elaine Gill, both of Wellston. Funeral services were held at 2 p. m. Wednesday at the Simmons Chapel with Rev. Robert W. Davis officiating. Burial followed in Ridgewood cemetery under the direction of Francis T. Simons.
