Loretta June Gessells

Loretta June Gessells, 62, Union Furnace, died unexpectedly Wednesday, Oct. 15, 1997, at Hocking Valley Community Hospital. Born May 6, 1935, at Haydenville, daughter of the late Willmut and Ruth Patton Vermillion, she was married to Ed Gessells, who survives. She was a homemaker. Also surviving are three sons, Michael Edward Gessells of Union Furnace, Brian (Marilyn) Gessells of Logan and Roger Gessells of Union Furnace; a daughter, Deborah Singo of Logan; nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild; eight brothers, Vic (Nancy) Vermillion of Union Furnace, Lloyd (Jeanne) Vermillion of Union Furnace, Don (Karen) Vermillion of Union Furnace, Larry (Rita) Vermillion of Union Furnace, Chet (Sandy) Vermillion of Rockbridge, Floyd (Nancy) Vermillion of Logan, the Rev. Wendell (Faye) Vermillion of Jackson and Gary (Debbie) Vermillion of The Plains; and three sisters, Vivian Michel of Union Furnace, Mrs. Robert (Shirley) Horton of Union Furnace and Mrs. Calvin (Kathy) Chaffin of Logan. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Odell Singo. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Sunday at Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home with the Rev. James Lambert officiating. Burial will be in New Fairview Cemetery, Rockbridge. Friends may call 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 Saturday.
