James Thurman Greene


James "Jim" Thurman Greene, age 66, of Walnut Street, Jackson, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2003, at Beaufort County Hospital in Washington, North Carolina. Born March 9, 1937, in Jackson, Ohio to the late George Thurman and Carol A. (Eubanks) Greene, he was a retired draftsman from McNally Pittsburgh, a U.S. Marine Corp veteran where he was a helicopter crew chief responsible for retrieving astronauts, a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Limerick Grange, and secretary and treasurer of Evergreen Cemetery Association. He is survived by his wife, Ann (Cherry) Greene, of 42 years of marriage; son, Michael Todd (Sarah) Greene of Jackson; daughter, Melody Lynne (Chris) Brown of Bidwell; four grandchildren, Owen T. and Brennen M. Greene, Tommy (Tina) and Christopher Brown; and one great-grandchild, Brantley. He was preceded in death by parents and brother Larry Dean Greene. Funeral service will be held at the Eisnaugle-Lewis Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 24 at 1 p.m. with burial to follow at Fairmount Cemetery with the Rev. Dale Lykins and Diaconal Janie Karl officiating. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, June 23 at the funeral home. Those who wish, in lieu of flowers, the famly requests that memorial contributions be made to the James T. Greene Memorial Scholarship Fund, 15 Walnut St., Jackson, Ohio 45640.
