John M. Fink


John M. Fink, 98, Nelsonville, died Wednesday, Nov. 27, 1996, at Logan Health Care Center. Born July 4, 1898, in Jackson County, son of the late Jacob and Anna May Fink, he was the widower of Nellie Ann Cheadle Fink, who died Jan. 26, 1987. He was a retired coal miner and a retired carpenter for Fink's Construction. He was a member of Nelsonville Wesleyan Church and UMWA. Surviving are a son, Don (Shirley) Fink of Nelsonville; two daughters, Hazel Hunley of Canal Winchester and Violet Carroll of Coshocton; six grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren, three great-great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Violet Shields of Columbus. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Marie Vania; a son, John Fink; four sisters, Jennie Bell, Freda Linscott, Beulah Fink and Lucille Fink; and five brothers, Alfred, Floyd, Jay, David and Clifford Fink. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Souers Funeral Home, Nelsonville, with the Rev. Mike Thomas officiating. Interment will be in The Plains Cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. today at the funeral home with the family in attendance from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8.
