Herschel A. Faulkner


Service for Herschel A. Faulkner, 73, of 234 Knoles Ave., will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Ware Funeral Home with the Rev. Astor Graves officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery at Leo. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Wednesday. Mr. Faulkner, a retired farmer and former Chillicothe Veterans Administration Hospital employee, died at 5:20 p.m. Monday at the local VA hospital following an extended illness. The son of John and Anna Spanabel Faulkner, he was born on May 6, 1894 in Jackson County. On June 8, 1918 he was married to Lula Cooper, who survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Ralph (Maxine) Davis, 608 Linn St., Mrs. James (Geraldine) Quillen, South Shore, Ky., and Mrs. Emil (Mary Ruth) Riley, 129 Winona Blvd.; eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Orlan (Minnie) Cooper, Coalton; a brother, Edwin, Hollywood, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Robert D., a half-sister and a half-brother. Mr. Faulkner was a member of the Savageville Methodist Church, Jackson Post of the American Legion, having been a veteran of World I and the Grange.
