Susanna Ervin

Susanna (Samuel) Ervin, 89, a former resident of Mulga Road, died Friday morning at Jenkins Memorial Nursing Home following a year's illness. She was a homemaker and spent most of her life in the Mount Carmel area, where she was a member of Mount Carmel United Methodist Church. Daughter of the late Richard and Alice (Jones) Samuel, she was born in Wainwright in Milton Township. Survivors include four sons, Roger of Jackson, Paul of Ashville, Louis of Columbus and Robert of Wellston; four daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Alice) Brooks of Columbus, Mrs. Loren (Ruth) Jolly of Wheelersburg, Mrs. Roy (Joann) Cross of the Plains and Mrs. Wilbur (Barbara) House of Wellston; a sister, Martha Coyle of Columbus; 20 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and seven step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ansel L.; two brothers, Richard and David Samuel; a sister, Elizabeth Ann Phillips; an infant brother and sister, and two grandchildren. Services were held Monday at Jenkins funeral Chapel with Rev. A.B. Maloy officiating. Burial was in Mount Carmel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Mount Carmel United Methodist Church in care of Neva Downard, Mulga Road, Wellston.
