Stanley Ervin


Stanley Ervin, 67, of Mulga Road, Wellston, passed away May 6, 2002, at Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe, due to kidney failure. Stanley was born July 4, 1934, in Jackson Ohio, to Kenneth and Wilma (Norris) Ervin. He is survived by his wife, Christine (Trosper); three sons, Terry (Bj), Kenneth (Sheila) and Stan Jr. (Beth) Ervin; grandchildren, Justin, Courteny, Kristen, Jessica, Brian and Shane Ervin; and one greatgrandchild, Zane Riley Ervin. Also surviving are brother, George (Wanda) Ervin; and two brothers-in-law, Larry (Francis) Kelly and Bob (Trish) Trosper. Stanley also leaves behind a very special friend of many years, Mike Darbyshire, of South Salem, Ohio; and a host of nieces and nephews. Stanley was a one time employee of Kinsel's, Fred Rice Appliance of Jackson, EE Chambers Department Store for 12 years, and Midland Grocery as a salesman for 12 years. He was a past Democrat chairman and a long time member of the Board of Elections. He also served as Director of elections in Jackson county. He was a Wellston City School Board member from 1998 to 2001. He retired from the State of Ohio, Dept. of Safety and Health in August 31, 1996. Friends may call Wednesday, May 8, 2002, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. and Thursday May 9, 2002, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. at the J.P. Rogers Funeral Home in Wellston. funeral will be Friday, May 10, 2002, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with Rev. A.B. Maloy officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Carmel Cemetery.
