Donald G. Ervin


Donald G. Ervin, age 74, died Thursday evening of last week at Chillicothe Medical Center, after two years failing health. One of Wellston's well-known and respected residents, he was manager of the Hardware Department of the E.E. Chambers Company for many years and was a retired employee of the Smith-Chambers Company. He was a lifelong resident of the Oak Grove community on Mulga Road, having been born in the same home where lived until the time of his death. The date of his birth was February 17, 1909, and he was a son of Ora S. and Electa M. Phillips Ervin. Don was an army veteran of World War II. He is survived by one brother, Thomas A. Ervin of Wellston, a retired McNally Pittsburgh engineer; two sisters, Mrs. Harry (Vivian) Martin, of Mt. Sterling, and Mrs. Stephen (Doris) Reed, of Route 1, Lucasville. Six brothers are deceased. He also leaves several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Sunday, June 5, at the Jenkins Funeral Home.
