David B. Davis


Former Jackson County Boy died in Portsmouth

Professor David B. Davis, a music teacher, hields to ravages of pneumonia Saturday morning. The remains, accompanied by the deceased's father, Mr. Ben W. Davis, and daughter, Maggie B., who were present when the parting came, arrived at Oak Hill Saturday afternoon and were immediately taken to the Davis home on Hewitt's Fork. Funeral services will be conducted at Horeb, Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock. Burial will be in charge of Undertakers Lloyd and Hughes. Mr. Davis was born 13 Apr 1876 and if he had lived till 13 April, he would have been 39 years of age. Besides his parents, he leaves to mourn four brothers: Thomas C. of Oak Hill; Evan Robert, of Chicago; B. Ellis and Osborne at home; and four sisters: Ceynor, Maggie, and Gladys, at home; and Mrs. John T. Herman, of Portsmouth.
