Catherine "Kate" Davis

Mrs. Catherine "Kate" Davis, wife of Evan D. Davis, of the firm of Parry and Davis, Oak Hill, and daughter of the late John D. Davis, for years manager of Jefferson Furnace, died suddenly at the home of her father-in-law, Daniel D. Davis, about three in the afternoon on Christmas Day [1906]. Mrs. Davis was born at Jefferson Furnace on 12 Jan 1859. She was educated in the schools of Oak Hill and at Cincinnati. On 16 Nov 1882 she was united in marriage to Evan D. Davis. Soon after their marriage, they built the home on Church Street. The funeral services were conducted on Friday afternoon, Rev. D. Forrest Williams officiating at the house. Revs. Abram R. jones, W.R. Evans, D.F. Williams, David Thomas, John Evans officiating at the Congregational church. Dr. G. James Jones read the obituary.
