Bertha Deal


Mrs. Edward Deal Dies on Saturday, Funeral Tuesday

Mrs. Edward Deal followed her husband in death Saturday morning at 9:30 o'clock. He died last June, and the end came to Mrs. Deal at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Grover Collins, East Sixth St. She had been sick several months, and her death was not unexpected. She was 69 years, 4 months and 26 days old. Mrs. Deal's maiden name was Bertha Thompson, and she was the daughter of Job and Sarah Burden Thompson. She was born near Ironton Oct. 23, 1874. Six daughters and two sons survived their mother, Mrs. Willard Henry, Mrs. Edward Rawlins, Mrs. Everett Waugh and Mrs. Collins, and Fred Deal of Wellston; Mrs. Henry Davis of Ches___; Mrs. Howard Burns of Shelburne, Ind.; and Wm. Deal of Zanesville. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon from the Free Will Baptist Church, and the ministers are Rev. C.A. Brown and Rev. Max Ball. Burial was in Ridgewood cemetery and Simons and Rogers were in charge.
