Raymond E. Collins

Raymond E. Collins, 65, of Seton Square died May 10, 1989, at Veterans Hospital in Chillicothe. Born July 15, 1923, in Jackson County, he was the son of the late William E. and Bessie Burns Collins. Mr. Collins was a retired letter carrier for the Wellston post office, where he had worked for 13 years. He was a former employee of B&O Railroad. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion Post 371 and Fraternal Order of Eagles. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Warner Collins; four daughters, Connie Patrick, Bonnie Davis, Sharon Jordan and Barbara Faught, all of Wellston; two sons, Paul of Wellston, and James R. of Jackson; 14 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty Roberts of Bourne, Texas; four brothers, Harold B. of Atlanta, Ga., Loren D. of Columbus, and Jack J. and Robert W. of Wellston. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter and a brother. Services were Saturday at J. P. Rogers Funeral Home with Rev. Dave McCarthy officiating. Burial was in Ridgewood Cemetery.
