Raymond R. "Pat" Casey

Raymond R. "Pat" Casey, age 65, of Upper Arlington, died Sunday, June 17, 2001, at Riverside Methodist Hospital. He recently retired as Vice President of National and Corporate Affairs for the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation. He was born in Wauseon, OH, to Raymond and Esther Casey. He graduated from Jackson High School, Jackson, OH, in 1952, received his B.Sc. in 1956 and his M.B.A. in 1969 both from The Ohio State University, where he was a member of Air Force R.O.T.C., Alpha Zeta Fraternity, Scabbard and Blade, and Gamma Sigma Delta Honorary. He served as a Captain in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of North Broadway United Methodist Church, Columbus Rotary, The O.S.U. President's Club, served on the boards of several businesses and was a member of numerous professional organizations. He was a devoted, loving family man, as well as an avid sailor, gardener, and O.S.U. supporter. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Clara; children: Patrick (Judy) of Chicago, IL, Natalie of New York, NY, Michelle (Don) Schonhardt of Hilliard, Brian (Sharon) of Brecksville, OH, Dr. Kevin (Dr. Lisa) of Oregon, OH and Capt. Eric, USMC (Maryann) of Norfolk, VA; grandchildren, Casey, James, Stacy, and Samantha Schonhardt, Matthew and Megan Casey, Moira and Aidan Casey; mother, Esther Casey; two sisters; three brothers; an aunt, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends may call 6-9 p.m. Wednesday, June 20, 2001, at Schoedinger Northwest Chapel, 1740 Zollinger Road. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, June 21, 2001 at North Broadway United Methodist Church, 48 East North Broadway, Columbus, OH. Interment Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ohio Council on Economic Education, CETE Building, 1900 Kenny Road, Columbus, Ohio 43210; American Cancer Society, Franklin Co. Unit, 900 Michigan Ave., Columbus, Ohio 43215 or a charity of your choice in his memory.
