Nell Rose Chapman

Nell Rose Chapman, our beloved aunt, died Saturday evening, October 18, 2003, at the age of 93, at Jenkins Memorial Health Facility in Wellston. She was a former resident of Hamden, Ohio. She was born at West Liberty, Kentucky, December 12, 1909, to the late Benjamin Franklin Rose and Gilley Anna Day Rose. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her devoted husband of almost 55 years, D.M. "Slim" Chapman, and their only child, Danella Ann Chapman, who died at the age of 17 months. Nell was the last surviving sibling of her four sisters, Rhoda Scott, Ollie Nickell, Jenny Davis, and Bertha Tedrow. She was also preceded by one brother, Wesley Rose. Surviving nieces are: Mary Ann Silvestrucci of Logan, WV, Amalee Soteriades of Whitehall OH, Anna Lou Wilson of Okeechobee FL, Ann Reed of Punta Gorda FL; nephew John Steele of Okeechobee FL; great-nieces Edna Arthur of Gilbert AZ, and Beverly Womeldorf of Hamden OH; and great-nephew David Silvestrucci of Charleston WV.
