Mary M. Canter

Mary M. Canter, 85, formerly of Carr Street, Jackson, passed away Saturday, Sept 30, 2000, at the Jenkins Memorial Health Center in Wellston. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lafayette and Mary Ellen Guthry Hayburn; her husband, John, two children; one brother and one sister. She is survived by the following children: Betty Wyatt, Marie Osborne, Carolyn White, Wesley Canter, all of Jackson; Almeda Morris of Cleveland, Ohio; Nancy Downard and Pearl Canter of Wellston, Ohio; and Mary Clarkson of Greenfield Ohio. She is also survived by one sister, Almeda Rood of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; 42 grandchildren, including one special granddaughter, Brenda Wyatt of Jackson; and 42 great-grandchildren. Friends called on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 at the Mayhew Funeral Home. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 11a.m. at Mayhew Funeral Home with the Rev. A.B. Maloy officating. Burial followed in Mt Carmel Cemetery.
