Mary Calhoon

Mary, daughter of Benjamin and Elizabeth Callahan, and widow of Thomas Calhoon, died at the home of her parents near Orpheus, Ohio, 27 Jan 1898, in her 29th year. She was married in 1889. Her husband died two years ago of consumption, leaving her "with a brave heart but a frail body" to try to care for the two little children he was compelled to leave. But the same dread disease that left her little ones fatherless, now leaves them motherless. From childhood, an attendant of the church and Sunday School at Pleasant Hill, she, about 12 years ago, under the pastorate of Rev. W.H. Mitchell, joined the church and gave her heart to Christ. The last three months of her suffering was eased by the home and attentions of her parents. At last as the end of her weariness and pain came the rest that comes to those who "sleep in Jesus."
