Leo "Deed" Cheatwood

Leo "Deed" Cheatwood, 76, of South New Jersey Avenue, Wellston, died Saturday June 29, 1996, at his home. Born April 25, 1920, in Wellston, he was the son of the late Ammazi and Elizabeth Jones Cheatwood. He was a former construction worker for Southern Ohio Coal Co. He is survived by two sons, Ronald Cheatwood of Jackson and James Cheatwood of Chillicothe; three daughters, Elaine Oiler, Pam Davis, and Kathy Rainer, all of Wellston; a brother, Paul Cheatwwod of Wellston; seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Coyle Cheatwood; two brothers, June and Lawrence Cheatwood; and a sister, Vera Cheatwood. Services will be Tuesday, 2 p.m., at Rogers-McWilliams Funeral Home, Wellston, with the Rev. David McManis officiating. Burial will be in Ridgewood Cemetery. Friends may call today from noon to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
