Lawrence Cheatwood

Lawrence Cheatwood, 79, of South Massachusetts Avenue, died April 12, 1990, at his residence. Born in Jackson County, he was the son of the late Ammazi and Elizabeth Jones Cheatwood. Mr. Cheatwood retired as a custodian from Wellston City Schools with 22 years of service. He was a coal miner and was associated the Green Thumb Project. Mr. Cheatwood was a member of Golden Eagles. He is survived by his wife, Katherine Hudson Cheatwood; a son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Wylodene of Wellston; a daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Robert Rose, all of Wellston; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Besides his parents he was preceeded in death by two brothers and two sisters. Services were Monday at J.P. Rogers Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Meade officiating. Burial was in Ridgewood Cemetery.
