James F. Collins

James F. Collins Dies in Wellston

James F. Collins, a lifelong resident of Wellston, passed away at his daughter's home on South New Jersey Ave. He was 78 years old. He was born in Wellston, December 15, 1888, a son of Jesse and Eliza Earrington [sic; Yearington] Collins. He was a retired miner and painter, and was preceded in death by his wife, a son and a daughter. He leaves the following children: Mrs. Lawrence (Catherine) Partlow of Wellston, Mrs. Dale (Marcena) Spratt of Toledo, Mrs. Dale (Virginia) Downard of Wellston, Mrs. Edward (Robin) Wiseman of Wellston, Mrs. Carl (Betty) Angel of Columbus, Jerry Collins of Wellston; two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Patton and Mrs. Edith Warner, both of Wellston; one brother, Homer Collins of Wellston. There are 16 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Wellston Nazarene Church with Rev. Vernon Shafer officiating. Burial followed in Ridgewood cemetery under the direction of Simons Funeral home.
