Homer E. Collins


Homer E. Collins Passes Tuesday

Homer E. Collins of 916 South New Jersey Ave., Wellston, passed away Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. at the Wellston Nursing Home. He was 68 years old. He was born in Wellston, September 14, 1901, the son of Jesse and Eliza Yarrington Collins. He was never married. Mr. Collins was a painter in the employ of the State Highway Department. He was a member of the First Baptist Church. Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Henry (Edith) Warner, and Mrs. Minnie Patton, both of Wellston; a niece, Mrs. Chas. (Wilma) Fitch of Portsmouth, who was reared in his home, and several other nephews and nieces. Five brothers and three sisters preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Rogers Chapel with Rev. Donald Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgewood cemetery. Friends may call after 7 p.m. Thursday at the home of his sister, Mrs. Henry Warner, 16 South Wisconsin Ave., Wellston.
