MRS. CRAGGS DIES IN MERCY HOSPITAL

Former Wellston Woman Succumbs to Protracted Illness Tuesday

Three weeks after the death of her husband, Frank Craggs, last April 26, Mrs. Corna M. Craggs succumbed to a long term of declining health at Mercy Hospital, Columbus, Tuesday [18 May 1954] evening at 5:30 o'clock. She was 78. Her maiden name was Corna Hutchison, and she was the daughter of Eliphaz (Life) and Jane Hutchison, early residents of Coalton. She was born February 23, 1876 at Petrea, between Jackson and Berlin X Roads. Her early life was lived at Coalton. She became the bride of Frank Craggs June 24, 1896, and for many years thereafter they lived at Glen Roy, rearing a family of three daughters and a son. It was a musical family with fine talent, having an impress on the culture of the community. Later the Craggs family came to Wellston and lived here until about 18 years ago when they moved to Columbus. The children are Gledon Craggs of Dayton, Mrs. Alberta James of Dover, Mrs. Marcella Smith of Toledo, and Mrs. Freda Roeger of Columbus. Mrs. Craggs' only surviving sister is Mrs. Evan G. Brohard of Coalton, mother of Mrs. Raymond Collins of this city. The funeral will be held from the Gaskill chapel in Wellston Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. H. Lewis Meyer of the First Presbyterian church will conduct the service and burial will be in Ridgewood Cemetery.
