Christina E. Collins


MRS. COLLINS IS TAKEN BY DEATH WEDNESDAY MORN

Mrs. Christina E. Collins, who resided on North Park ave., many years, passed on Wednesday morning at 6:15 o'clock at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond C. Collins, 311 south Pennsylvania ave. She had been sick only ten days. Mrs. Collins had resided at the Raymond Collins home during the past five years, enjoying the care and devotion of her children and grandchildren. She was 82. Mrs. Collins had lived all her long life in or near Wellston. She was born in Milton Twp., east of town, March 1, 1874, a daughter of Louis D. [sic; Lewis D.] and Mary Ann (Howenstine) Hayburn. She leaves six sons and daughters, Jessie, who is Mrs. Will Coyle, Howard Collins and Edward Collins and Raymond Collins, all of Wellston; Mrs. Ruth Pierce of Mingo Junction and Mrs. Mildred Evans of Cleveland. One son and one daughter are deceased. There are 35 grandchildren and 45 [great-]grandchildren. Mrs. Collins is survived by only one sister, Mrs. Don Bartoe of this city. She had been a member of the Methodist church of Wellston since girlhood. She is fondly remembered by many friends as a kind and devoted mother and a generous and helpful neighbor. The funeral will be this Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Raymond Collins residence, south Pennsylvania ave. The service will be conducted by Rev. H. Lewis Meyer and burial will be in Ridgewood cemetery.
