Mrs. Bessie Collins Dies In Mt. Logan Sanatorium Today

Funeral Rites to be held Wednesday

An illness of nine months proved fatal at 1:45 o'clock this morning to Mrs. Bessie Gladys Collins, age 53, who died at the Mt. Logan Sanatorium, Chillicothe. Mrs. Collins, who was the wife of Edward Collins, Wellston plumber, was a patient in White Cross Hospital for several weeks before being transferred to the Sanatorium three months ago. She was born in Wellston, July 7, 1898, a daughter of the late Gabriel and Martha Love Burns. She had lived her entire lifetime in Wellston at 209 North Railroad Avenue. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are seven children all living in Wellston. William Collins, at home, Raymond Collins, Wellston, employed at the Crown plant in Jackson, Jack Collins, at home, an employee of the Ohio Fuel Gas Company, Loren Collins, at home, employed by the City Lumber Company, Harold Collins, a Wellston high school senior, Robert Collins, a Central school pupil, and Mrs. Betty Goodrich of Wellston, wife of Sgt. Cleon Goodrich of the United States Army. Mrs. Collins leaves one sister and five brothers: Miss Mary Burns, Columbus, George Burns, Dayton; Edward, Harry, James and Howard Burns, all living in the state of Indiana. Friends may call at the Rogers Funeral Chapel after 7 o'clock this evening. Funeral services will be held at the Rogers Chapel Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. R. C. Greene of the Wellston Methodist church will officiate, with burial in Ridgewood cemetery.
