Verona M. VanBibber Stevens Bishop

Verona M. VanBibber Stevens Bishop, age 77, of Wellston, died Wednesday, May 16, 2001, at her residence. She was born Sept. 27, 1923, in Wellston, and was the daughter of the late Arthur and Nellie Gray VanBibber. Mrs. Bishop was a homemaker. She is survived by her children, Sandra (Jerry) Bobo of Jackson, Carolyn (Gary) Stover of Jackson, Tom (Patty) Stevens of Wellston, John (Mary) Stevens of Wellston, Randy (Debbie) Bishop of Ray, Greg Bishop of Wellston and Rick Bishop of Wellston; special friend, Paula King of Wellston; sisters, Helen Fain of Springfield, Berneda Flannery of Chillicothe and Hilda Montgomery of Hamden; brothers Tom Vanbibber of Upper Sandusky and Ronnie VanBibber of Florida; as well as 16 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Stevens; son, Jimmy Dale Stevens; brothers, Gould VanBibber and Arthur Sonny VanBibber Jr.; sister, Colis VanBibber and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 19, at 11 a. m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston with the Rev. A. B. Maloy officiating. Burial will be in Ridgewood Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 3 to 9 p.m.
