Mrs. Don Bartoe

MRS. DON BARTOE IS TAKEN BY DEATH DUE TO YEARS OF ILLNESS

Mrs. Don Bartoe, who had been declining in health for the past seven years, succumbed at her home, 410 south New York ave., Monday night at 6:45 o'clock. Her condition became critical about three weeks ago. She was 78. Besides her devoted husband, she leaves a son and daughter, Fireman Bill Bartoe and Nellie Pittenger. There are six grandchildren and eleven greatgrandchildren. Mrs. Bartoe was widely related in and around Wellston, with numerous nephews and nieces, some of whom are prominent in Wellston's business community. Three brothers and four sisters died and she is the last of her generation. She was born in Milton Twp., a daughter of Lewis and Mary Ann (Hounstine) Hayburn. She and Mr. Bartoe were married in 1905 and celebrated their golden wedding anniversary seven years ago, and they were looking forward to observing their 60th wedding anniversary two years hence. She was a faithful and ardent member of the Evangelical United Brethren church. Her pastor, Rev. Eugene Flowers, will conduct the funeral service at the Rogers chapel this Thursday afternoon and burial will be at Ridgewood cemetery. Mrs. Bartoe was highly respected among her neighbors who cherish her memory as a devout Christian and a helpful friend.
