Mrs. Stephen Anderson

While returning home from church on Tuesday evening of last week at Oreton, about six miles east of here, on the line of the CHV&T RR, Mrs. Stephen Anderson was run over by a northbound "light" engine and killed. There were several persons in the party, who were caught on the trestle by surprise, among them four children of the unfortunate woman. After she succeeded in getting all her children off the trestle, it is stated that the poor woman was so crazed with excitement that she stood utterly powerless in the middle of the track until crushed to death by the iron horse. It was a most heart-rending scene. The deceased, who was about 40 years of age, leaves a sorrowing husband and five motherless children to mourn her sad and untimely death.
