Catherine May Davis Arthur

Catherine May Davis Arthur, age 87 and a resident of Route 3 (South Maine Avenue) Wellston, passed away January 12, 1977, at the home of her sister in Galena Ohio. She was born in Jackson County, October 5, 1889, to the late David C. and Mary Davis. She was a housewife. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William Arthur, one daughter, three brothers and two sisters. Surviving are the following: five sons, William Kenneth of Wellston, Eldred Oslar of Norro, California, Glendon Arliss of Largo, Florida, Harold Clinton of Wellston, and Gerald Quinton of Nashville, Tennessee; one brother, Oslar Davis of Columbus; and one sister, Florence Perdue of Galena. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the Wellston Chapel of the James N. Blower Funeral Home on First Street with Reverend A.B. Maloy officiating. Burial will be in Ridgewood Cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel from 2:00 until 9:00 Friday. Arrangements under the direction of J. P. Rogers.
