Descendants of Lewis Radabaugh
FIRST GENERATION 1. LEWIS6 RADABAUGH (JESSE5, HENRY4, JOHANN ADAM3, JOHAN HEINRICH2 REIDENBACH, PETER1) was born 1817 in KY. He married DELILAH SPRIGGS January 31, 1836 in Jackson Co., OH, daughter of DANIEL SPRIGGS and SARAH THROCKMORTON. Marriage Notes for LEWIS RADABAUGH and DELILAH SPRIGGS: In the 1855 Deed Record (1:626) for SCIOTO CO. he is described as being from Jackson Co. In any case in 1:626 a William E. and Matilda Crabtree (also of Jackson Co.) sold Lewis 40 acres in Sec. 6, T5 R19, Scioto Co. (The S end of the E 1/2 of the NE 1/4.) This was 11 Aug. 1855. 11 Aug. 1855 Lewis and Delilah sold some land to one William Alexander. This was 40 acres: NW 1/4 of SE 1/4 of Sec. 32, SCIOTO TWP., JACKSON CO. (T:131) 10 Nov. 1855 Joseph J. and Elizabeth Spriggs (of Jackson Co.) sold 40 acres to Lewis in the same Sec. 6 (1:631). ( The SW 1/4 of the NE 1/4.) These two 40 acre pieces adjoined one another--east and west--in Madison Twp. (Scioto County), and with the range number given, it is the easternmost Sec. 6 in that Twp. (Not to be confused with Scioto Twp., Jackson Co. or with Madison Twp, Jackson Co.) Lewis and Delilah moved to Scioto Co., because when they later sold part of the foregoing Sec, 6 land they were described as being from Scioto Co. This latter sale took place on 13 Apr. 1857 (3:110) wherein Lewis and Delilah sold Part of the SW 1/4 of the NE 1/4 of Sec. 6, T5 R19 to Joseph Spriggs. (Beginning SW corner of said lot, thence E 20 rods, thence N the full length of said lot, thence W 20 rods thence S to beginning--between 10 and 11 acres. On 21 Feb. 1859 Lewis and Delilah (of Scioto Co.) sold another part of the Sec. 6 land to a John Shear (3:111). Part of the SW 1/4 of the NE 1/4 of Sec. 6, T5 R19. (Beginning 20 rods E of the SW corner of said lot, thence N 40 rods, thence E 40 rods, thence S 40 rods, thence W 40 rods to beginning--10 acres. This leaves 19-20 acres that Lewis and Delilah still own--plus, of course, the SE 1/4 of the NE 1/4 (40 acres). Finally, on 11 Dec. 1868 (15:269) Lewis and Delilah sold the remainder of the SW 1/4 of the NE 1/4 of Sec. 6 T5 R19 to John Shear (the 19-20 acres). They also sold the SE 1/4 of the NE 1/4, Sec. 6, T5 R19 to John Shear (the 40 acres). In 1866, Lewis and Delilah sold 10 acres to one Bia Crabtree (NW 1/4 of SE 1/4 of Sec. 31, SCIOTO TWP., JACKSON CO.
