Delp Children Placed in Charge of Relatives

The Delp case in Mayor's court, in which the father was arrested for failing to provide for his minor children, was finally adjusted on Tuesday morning. William Delp of Logan, a brother of the father, and Roman Brooker, an uncle who resides in the same city, agreed to adopt the children and told the Humane Society over the telephone that they would only be too glad to care for them.

At first Delp and his wife patched up their affairs, and contractor Thompson, in charge of the Carnegie Library, interested himself in the matter. He told the Delps to make up and care for their children and he paid the costs in Delp's case so that the man was released. The Humane Society however, was opposed to putting the children in the woman's care for they did not believe she was a proper person.

When Mr. Brooker called up and made his offer, it clarified the way and Delp and his wife were sent for. Both consented to see the children go and Delp returned to his labors, while Mrs. Delp took the next train for Wellston, her former home. The children will be placed in charge of the conductor and sent to Logan tomorrow. The boy, Floyd, is ten, and Gertrude, six.
