Jackson County, Ohio

Jackson County was organized in 1816 from Athens, Gallia, Ross and Scioto Counties. It was named for Andrew Jackson, a hero of the War of 1812, and was elected President of teh United States.

Jackson County began keeping marriage, land and court records in 1816; probate records in 1819 and births and deaths in 1867.
